HOUSTON, TX – Anadarko Industries (AI), a Native American Tribal owned 8(a) company, today announced a new contract award. AI will provide technology and support services directly to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service.
This will be a one year contract with four options years that would extend through September 30, 2009. The transition of work will begin November 1. The estimated value of the contract is $3 million and will employee approximately 26 people.
The USDA Forest Service Units utilizing the services under this contract are within the Forest Service Washington Office Detached Units, Rocky Mountain Research Station, Arapaho Roosevelt National Forest, and Medicine Bow Routt National Forests. The technologies developed under these units include unique equipment (e.g. cameras), software, databases, methods, research findings, administrative studies, and information which are based upon Forest Service strategic direction and are consistent with Forest Service objectives for ecosystem management, forest health initiatives, research services, and administrative services.
To fulfill the requirements of supporting the Forest Service’s technology and programs, they selected Anadarko Industries to provide these services, including software development, source data entry, database design and management, data analysis, training, field studies, systems management, system analysis and design, programming, research, and equipment operation that are adjunct and essential to the Forest Services’ mission.
The Forest Service selected Anadarko Industries because of their available resources in Information Technology and because of the responsiveness of the management team. AI’s operational capabilities enabled AI to bid this contract as a stand-alone prime contractor, which provided a significant advantage over the competition who had to form teams to bid. “By not having to bring in other team members, it simplifies the management approach and streamlines the communication lines between the customer and the employees,” said Tom Short, AI’s President / CEO.
